Liens from the OSIRIS-REx raw radio science data review Draft - Aug. 14, 2020 Lien #31 regarding the WEA products is still in discussion. The others are finalized. Review meeting held Aug. 3, 2020. Result of review: Data certified for release, with the following liens. Reviewers: Dustin Buccino, Dick Simpson, Ashok Verma Review participants: Gerbs Bauer, Dustin Buccino, Richard Chen, Kate Crombie, Jay McMahon, Beatrice Mueller, Carol Neese, Eric Palmer, Dan Scheeres, Dick Simpson, Ashok Verma. Bundle ====== 1. The bundle LID and title are orex.dsn and OSIRIS-REx DSN Data Bundle. This seems inappropriate since the bundle is not produced by DSN, nor are all the included data from DSN. If possible, change the LID and title to some more appropriate values such as orex.rss.raw and OSIRIS-REx Raw Radio Science bundle. (This also affects the bundle description document which refers to the bundle by its title.) 2. The value for title “Origins, Spectral Interpretation, Resource Identification, Security, Regolith Explorer (OSIRIS-REx): Mission Bundle” identifies this as the “mission” bundle, not a DSN or radio science bundle. 3. Citation_Information.description should be expanded to include SFF files. 4. For actual URLs to nasa sites, please use https: 1 should be 3 - Line 97: 3 should be 2 ERROR [error.label.schematron] line 96, 31: The attribute pds:fields must be equal to '2'. ERROR [error.label.schematron] line 96, 31: The number of Field_Delimited elements (2) does not match the number found in the 'fields' attribute (3). Begin Content Validation: file:/Users/rchen/Desktop/orex.dsn/document/collection_inventory_dsn_document.csv WARNING [error.table.records_mismatch] table 1: Number of records read is not equal to the defined number of records in the label (expected 1, got 3). End Content Validation: file:/Users/rchen/Desktop/orex.dsn/document/collection_inventory_dsn_document.csv TRK-2-34 ======== 16. There is a 7 hour offset between filename times and the start and stop times in the labels of the TRK-2-34 files. The error is presumably caused by a UTC/local offset, identify and correct. 17. There are duplicate files among the TRK-2-34 collection, reported in Ashok's report. Investigate the problem and correct. 18. Correct the target and observing system context references to the newly released DSN context objects. 19. Modification_Detail.description says “OSIRIS-REx PDS4 label template to describe...”. Should be label, not label template. 20. trk234_trknav/collection_dsn_trk234_traknav.xml - Its LID is wrong, as another file has it: urn:nasa:pds:orex.dsn:naf018_sff should presumably be urn:nasa:pds:orex.dsn:trk234_trknav ION and TRO =========== 21. The ION collection incorrectly includes VLBI products which were not intended to be delivered until a later review, when the delta DOR products have been correctly labelled. These files will be removed until they can be provided for the later review. 22. Update product labels using the corrected example labels provided by PDS. 23. Update context references in the collection labels to agree with the corrected example labels. 24. Make the following corrections to the collection label: - Context references to agree with example labels - Purpose should be Calibration - Modification_Detail.description should be about the Collection, not about the label – for example, “Initial collection of SFF products for the O-REx radio science raw data archive.” 25. The TRO Collection label has the wrong ; “u:n:p:orex.dsn:trk223_ionosphere” should be “u:n:p:orex.dsn:trk223_troposphere” 26. If possible, sort the rows in the Inventory *.csv files so they are in time order. SFF === 27. Correct the labelling error which has resulted a time error in the start and stop times in the SFF labels. 28. naf018_sff/collection_inventory_dsn_naf018_sff.csv - Suggestion: remove blank line at end of the file to avoid validate warning 29. Update product labels using the corrected example labels provided by PDS. 30. Make the following corrections to the collection label: - Context references to agree with example labels - Purpose should be Calibration - Modification_Detail.description should be about the Collection, not about the label – for example, “Initial collection of SFF products for the O-REx radio science raw data archive.” WEA === --> This lien not finalized yet. 31. This lien will address the inclusion of the Weather data (WEA) in the O-Rex RS bundle. The details of how this will be done are still under discussion. Liens affecting multiple product types ====================================== 32. Current PDS standards require that ASCII tables have delimiters, but TRO, ION, and SFF products have delimiters. An SCR to allow delimiters is currently being proposed. Resolve with the following plan: - If, by the end of 2020, this SCR has passed, the data with delimiters will be appropriately labelled in the new standard. Note that the new IM will not be released until March of 2021. (If possible, the entire O-Rex raw RS bundle will be labelled in the same version of the IM, or if this presents problems, only the TRO, ION, and SFF collections can be labelled in the new version of the IM.) - If the SCR has not passed by the end of 2020, SBN will take on the task of converting the TRO, ION, and SFF data files to delimiters, and making the necessary changes to the labels. 33. New RS context objects have been released. Update the context references to use these new objects and their LIDs. 34. SBN will provide updated label examples for TRO, ION, and SFF products which resolved the liens on these products. (Dick Simpson has volunteered to produce these sample labels.) Labels for these products should be generated based on templates from these examples. 35. It is suggested that all the collections of the bundle be no longer grouped into subdirectories by mission phase, but rather grouped into a smaller set of subdirectories such as outbound cruise, Bennu encounter, and return. This is left to O-Rex to choose the most appropriate directory structure. Additional Data =============== (New data products will require external review and can be included in the next round of review.) 36. Provide the antenna swap history in a table, or if this information already exists in the mission phase narratives, provide a reference in the Bundle Information document. (same as lien #12) 37. It is strongly recommended to include the Earth Orientation Parameters data as an important adjunct to using the data. Dick can provide code to label these data. It is also possible that Juno has archived the relevant data, if so it may be possible to include as a secondary collection. Dick said he would check. 38. It is strongly recommended to include the spacecraft Mass History data as an important adjunct to the use of the data. Evaluate if this can be included. If nothing else, at least a reference to publications with the S/C mass information could be cited. end of liens
