Description of the KBO AND CENTAUR ABSOLUTE MAGNITUDES bundle V1.0 ====================================================== Bundle Generation Date: 2020-06-12 Peer Review: 2007 Asteroid Review, 2007-05-24 Discipline node: Small Bodies Node Content description based on the data set catalog file description for the PDS3 version, EAR-A-VARGBDET-3-KBOMAGS-V1.0 ====================================================================================================================== Note: for PDS3 data sets migrated to PDS4, the following text is taken verbatim from the data set description and confidence level note of the PDS3 data set catalog file. In these cases, some details may not be correct as a description of the PDS4 bundle. This data set contains absolute V-band magnitudes of 90 Kuiper belt objects and Centaurs from Romanishin and Tegler (2005). The absolute magnitudes are derived from V magnitudes presented in Tegler and Romanishin 1998, 2000, and 2003, Romanishin and Tegler 1999, and Tegler et al. 2003. The phase correction was made using H,G with an assumed value of G = 0.15. For convenience, R-band absolute magnitudes derived from the V absolute magnitudes and published V-R colors are also provided. Both the V and R-band absolute magnitudes are reproduced from Table 1 of Romanishin and Tegler (2005). See this paper for further details about the derivation. Romanishin, W. and S.C. Known issues or problems with the data ====================================== For the majority of objects, H(V) was determined from observations taken only during one night, or perhaps a few nights during one observation run. For details of the analysis see the original paper, Romanishin and Tegler (2005). PDS3 Source =========== Version 1.0 of this bundle was migrated from version 1.0 of the PDS3 data set EAR-A-VARGBDET-3-KBOMAGS-V1.0.
