Description of the NEAR EARTH ASTEROID LIGHTCURVES bundle V1.0 ============================================================== Bundle Generation Date: 2020-06-12 Peer Review: NEOLC Review, 2000-06-01 Discipline node: Small Bodies Node Content description based on the data set catalog file description for the PDS3 version, EAR-A-3-RDR-NEO-LIGHTCURVES-V1.1 ========================================================================================================================= Note: for PDS3 data sets migrated to PDS4, the following text is taken verbatim from the data set description and confidence level note of the PDS3 data set catalog file. In these cases, some details may not be correct as a description of the PDS4 bundle. This data set contains photometric lightcurves of near-earth asteroids obtained by Petr Pravec and his collaborators at Ondrejov Observatory. Lightcurves for 42 asteroids are included. These asteroids were included based on a slightly wider criterion for a NEA: q < 1.33 AU (rather than the standard definition of q < 1.3 AU). As a result, some asteroids may be included which other researchers would classify as Mars-crossers. Parameters ========== The lightcurve files contain columns for light-corrected UTC Modified Julian Date, and magnitude. The type of magnitude is specified in the parameter table. Lightcurve files are divided into subdirectories by asteroid number, with a separate subdirectory for asteroids unnumbered at the time of the most recent update. The data file names start with the asteroid number (or provisional designation for unnumbered asteroids) followed by the date of observation. The parameter table has one line per lightcurve and gives the subdirectory and filename, the asteroid number and/or provisional designation, the starting and ending time of the lightcurve, the color band and magnitude type, the phase to which the magnitudes have been corrected, and the minimum and maximum errors of the points of the lightcurve. Known issues or problems with the data ====================================== Review ====== This data set underwent external peer review on June 1-2, 2000. PDS3 Source =========== Version 1.0 of this bundle was migrated from version 1.1 of the PDS3 data set EAR-A-3-RDR-NEO-LIGHTCURVES-V1.1.
