Description of the Asteroid Lightcurve Database (LCDB) bundle V3.0 ================================================================== Bundle Generation Date: 2020-10-09 Peer Review: 2019 Asteroid Review Discipline node: Small Bodies Node Content description for the Asteroid Lightcurve Database (LCDB) bundle ====================================================================== The asteroid lightcurve database (LCDB) consists of ten tables. The primary is the lc_summary table, which contains the adopted physical characteristics for the 24500+ objects. These include size, albedo, taxonomic class, and rotation period, among others. The lc_details tables gives all the results for each object that were taken from the literature. In most cases, one of the results is the one adopted for the summary record. The remaining 8 tables provide information specific to spin axis orientation, non-principal axis rotation, color index, and binary status as well as a list of ambiguous results for asteroids with non-unique rotation periods and a listing of the adopted and all other reported diameters for each of the 24500+ objects. The archive also includes a pds_readme.txt file that provides extensive details about the contents of each table and background on primary considerations made during database entry and compilation. A PDF version of the file, pds_readme.pdf, has the same content but includes bookmarks for easy navigation to specific sections within the file. Caveats to the data user ======================== None at this time.
