This is the second volume in the series, VOLUME_ID = NEAT_0002, containing the data from the Palomar Tri-Cam telescope. The planned series of volumes in this data set are divided by instrument and/or telescope, and include: Volume ID: Contents by instrument and telescope: NEAT_0001 GEODSS NEAT_0002 Palomar Tri-Cam NEAT_0003 MSSS NEAT_0004 QUEST part 1 NEAT_0005 QUEST part 2 NEAT_0006 QUEST part 3 (See the instrument and instrument host descriptions in the catalog directory for information about the individual instruments and telescopes.) The data and associated PDS labels and catalog files are organized into the following directories: catalog - contains PDS catalog files describing the data set, the instruments and telescopes used to take the data, and the references cited in the data set: dataset.cat - detailed description of the data set i1063inst.cat - description of the NEAT Palomar Tri-Camera i1349inst.cat - description of the NEAT-Maui Camera i1496inst.cat - description of the NEAT QUEST camera mission.cat - description of the Support Archives mission (a placeholder for non-mission data obs347t2host.cat - description of the Palomar Observatory 1.24/1.83-m Oschin Schmidt Photographic Equatorial Telescope obs6490t1host.cat - description of the AMOS MSSS (Maui Space Surveillance Site) 1.2m telescope obs6491t1host.cat - description of the AMOS GEODSS (Ground-based Electro-optical Deep-Space Surveillance) 1.0 m telescope ref.cat - list of references cited in the data set data - contains the data files and their corresponding labels, organized into directories by date, plus the archive master list with information about each image, for use in searching the archive. All directory names indicate the UT date of the observation. Directory names are in the format of PREFIX + YEARMMDD where the prefix is based on the instrument used to take the observation. The prefix for Palomar Tri-Cam is 'p'. Each NEAT image is uniquely named and all filenames are UT time stamped as year, month, day, hour, minutes and seconds of the start time of the exposure. The year is a four digit year for Tri-Cam (e.g. 2002). All sky-data obtained with the Tri-Cam camera end with an 'a', 'b', or 'c', to identify which CCD obtained the image. Darks and flats are named according to the following formats: YY_MM_DD(d/e/f)_dark_(exposure time)sec.fit and YY_MM_DD(a/b/c)_(exposure time)secnrm_flat.fit. document - contains ancillary documents and files related to this data set including QE curves for the detectors and nightly weather logs. index - contains the PDS required index. It lists various parameters for each data file in the data set.
