This directory contains documents describing various aspects of the NEAR      
mission and the X-ray/Gamma Ray Spectrometer instrument.  In some cases       
a single document is provided is several different formats for the            
convenience of users.                                                         
                                                                              
The /INSTRUMENT subdirectory contains text files listing the parameters       
contained in the data file spectra for each observing sensor.                 
                                                                              
The /MISSION subdirectory contains two subdirectories:                        
                                                                              
  /OVERVIEW contains a NEAR mission overview.                                 
  /TECHDIGEST contains documents describing the Command and Data              
     handling system and an overview of the X-ray/Gamma-ray Spectrometer.
