The EXTRAS directory contains files which facilitate the use of the data on   
the disk, but which are not actually required for the use or understanding    
of those data.                                                                
                                                                              
This directory contains full sized TIFF versions of all of the mosaics        
in the DATA area (global and quadrangle). These images may be useful          
organized  to users of ArcGIS or other software packages. The data are        
and named following the same conventions used in the DATA directory. In       
addition, PNG format images have been provided for the global mosaics only.   
The PNG files are smaller than the TIFF files and may be easier to work with  
for some users.
